A former TV news reporter and weather forecaster, Trudi has written more than one hundred

fiction and nonfiction books for kids. She was the first author to pen fiction for National

Geographic with EXPLORER ACADEMY, a fact-based STEM adventure series for middle grade

readers. The seven-book series has been translated into more than twenty languages and The

Falcon’s Feather (Book 2) was a Washington State Book Award finalist. Born and raised in
